At The Village Protestant Church, we are about REDEMPTION! Jesus Christ is Alive Today and desires to meet us at our point of need and redeem us. We worship God in Spirit and in Truth and see Jesus Christ as our Lord and Redeemer.
“...and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

We connect to God through sincere prayer and each week we pray for the concerns of this world and for each other in our times of worship. We offer faithful prayer for those facing the challenges of everyday life. Each week we pray the Lord's Prayer together. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

At The Village Protestant Church, we preach from the Bible, God's Word. The Old and New Testaments speak to us today and give us light for the path and encouragement for the journey ahead. “Day after day... they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.”

The Church enjoys singing the old hymns directly from the hymn books that connect us to the history of the life of the Christian church. The music is heartfelt and led by our passionate choir that bring us into the presence of our Savior.
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!”

At The Village Protestant Church, The Apostles Creed is our statement of faith. Our Protestant Church is represented by Baptist, Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Assembly of God, and a total of over 10 denominations. All of us together embrace The Apostles Creed, the life giving statement.
“But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.”

Our community is caring and desires to live out in real time the words of Jesus - To MAKE THE ROOM BETTER ! Visits to church members in the hospitals and Arbor Ridge are a major part of our life together. Reach out to the pastor to find out more about Membership and Associate membership. “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!”

Our church is led by an elected Council and our pastor, Dr. Jim Byrne. For over 20 years a dedicated council gives direction and oversight to the vision and ministry of The Village Protestant Church. The Central Union Mission has been on the forefront of meeting the needs of the poor and homeless in the nation's capitol. They do this by feeding both the body and the soul. With a message of hope and redemption they provide food for the hungry.

We were made aware of a great need for financial support for an Albania Girl's Safe Home that has taken up a group of 10 young girls that had been rescued from abuse and human trafficking. These girls now have a school, home, and a godly mentor.

Just as the body needs healthy nourishment, so does the spiritual life. Our Daily Bread Ministries produces a scripture reading for each day. Members of our church personally deliver these to residents of Riderwood to "feed" them with God's Word.

The Village Protestant Church partners with the other faith communities to provide practical support with clothes and coats to the Covington Middle School children that live in the homeless shelter close by. These kids will be have school clothes in the Fall and warm coats in the winter.
